Chad has chosen to “Swim for those who can’t” at the 2016 Dischem Sun City Swim which consists of 6 events totaling 9,6km. This is challenging in the sense that Chad will be covering a long distance overall and would like to inspire other swimmers to take part by taking on their own personal challenge of 1,5km or 3km (what they are able to swim).
Event 1: 3km (Mens & Ladies)
Event 2: 1,5km (Ladies)
Event 3: 1,5km (Mens)
Event 4: 1,5km (Ladies Batch 2)
Event 5: 1,5km (Men’s Batch 2)
Event 6: 600m Fun Swim
The Dischem Sun City swim has been going since 1998 – this being the 19th year. The event has grown each year and 2015 recorded 3213 entrants. Chad has completed the swim twice thus far and loves the vibe and venue. Each event is run one after the other so Chad will be getting out at the finish line and walking back to the start line where he will start the next swim.
Chad’s campaign will cover the cost of 1 x specialized equipment for a year as well as 1 x physical therapist.
“It warms my heart to see that little boy who operates with his chin & a wheelchair, absolutely amazing how much technology can improve these kids lives, things we take for granted everyday.”
