✨💗SPLASH & DASH💗✨ DATE: Friday, 27 December
TIME: 7.00am
VENUE: CENTRAL BEACH, PLETT

The Sabrina Love Ocean Challenge 2019 presented by @discovery_sa SPLASH & DASH surfski sprint is open to all paddlers who enter the Surfski single or double race. They will be entered automatically and can choose to participate or not by letting us know at the race venue at least 1 hour before the event starts at 7:00am.

You can also choose to just do the SPLASH & DASH without doing a Sursfki race but must enter a Surfski race at www.entrytickets.net/sabrina for your entry . .

This sensational, crowd thrilling event is an individual event. The distance is approx. 500m from Central Beach, around a “can” and back to the beach. The race will be held on a knockout basis with heats drawn before the start. Men and ladies will compete together in the same category. .

All the entrants will be drawn into first round heats and known seeded paddlers will be placed in different groups. The winners of each first-round heat will progress towards the A final, while the losers of each heat will progress into various semi-finals so that everyone paddles at least twice in the morning, although finalists will paddle more than twice. These paddlers will head towards B finals depending on numbers. .

Prizes will be awarded to finalists and semi-finalists.

The Sabrina Love Foundation is all about ‘inspiring a new normal’ where children with disabilities are included and advocated for in all aspects of everyday society. 💗

Our new Salt Water Challenge is aimed at raising awareness about our purpose.

Shaun Tomson, World Champion Surfer, says, "We are all joined together by one ocean." 🌊
So... join the #InclusionMovement and become a part of the tribe by participating in the challenge! 💧
It's simple! All you have to do is:

1. Take a video of yourself getting wet with salt water! Be creative with this: you can surf; swim; jump; dive OR if you live inland, use a bucket of home-made salt water! 🧂 💦
2. Post the video onto social media and tag us!
3. Challenge 3 of your friends to take up the challange!
You have 24hrs to complete the challenge & donate R50 to Sabrina Love, OR if you don't take up the challenge, donate R100!

This year’s Sabrina Love Ocean Challenge 2019 presented by @Discovery_sa kicks off on Friday 27 December with the 10 km Road & Beach Run!
Join Sabrina Love Ambassadors @hotpantsnienaber and @BSWeiss_tri for an exhilarating and scenic early morning run which starts at Longstone Park in Plett and finishes at Central Beach.

Top trail runner Chantel is a well-known philanthropist and we love seeing her in her funky running gear which has earned her the nickname “Hot Pants Nienaber!” Bradley is the 2019 XTERRA World Champion and the winner of last year’s 10 km Road Run.

This event is the main fundraising event for the Sabrina Love Foundation which was set up to care for children with special needs and their families on the Garden Route, providing them with medical and professional support. Thanks to our sponsors, all entry fees go directly to the Foundation!
