7 Sabrina Love Foundation parents and Vuyiseka Mbikawana, our cook at Die Sterreweg attended a 3 day training program presented by Mungo. Mungo has a small non profit division called “Mungo Move” which is used to upskill people in the community. Sabrina Love Foundation parents and teachers were invited to join in the “Feed your Family from your backyard” initiative where families learn about starting sustainable vegetable gardens.

The training course, facilitated by Melody Khan, was run over 2 Fridays. The attendees were taught the following:
*How to make soil rich and fertile by making compost and natural fertilizer
* How to use very little water and still get results
* What to plant to stop the bugs
* Ways of using your waste water
* How to get seeds and plants at a very low cost
* Seasonal planting
* How to make wall, drum and tyre gardens
Parents finished off their gardening course and were all awarded certificates to celebrate the completion of a very interesting and enriching experience.

Thank you so much to Mungo Move for providing our parents and cook with this enriching experience. We wish them all happy planting and successful gardening.
If anyone has any gardening implements that they would like to donate to these parents, please contact Die Sterreweg on 044 533 2639
