In line with the celebration of “International Food Day” today, we thought our timing with our theme for the last 2 weeks was perfectly spot on.
All of our children’s at home activities have been centered around food – specifically fruit and vegetables and the health benefits that this amazing food group has to offer. Children are taught about the importance of vitamins in building healthy immune systems and remaining healthy, especially now during this Covid time. Healthy foods build healthy immune systems.
Regular deliveries of highly nutritious superfoods that have been specially packaged for our families, as well as the recent garden project, which is aimed at improving food security for our parents and families (https://sabrinalove.co.za/feed-your-family-from-your-backyard-a-mungo-move-initiative/) encourages a healthy way of life.

The theme was not all work and no play and learning was encouraged by turning this into a multi sensory theme. Our young people had to smell, touch, taste recognize the colour and count the various fruit and vegetables available to them at their homes.

Various activities were carefully put together by our staff to ensure that the creative skills of our children were also put to work. The working of fine motor skills was encouraged by tearing, cutting and pasting.
