A wheelchair is one of the most commonly used assistive devices to promote mobility and enhance quality of life for people who have difficulties in walking.

Wheelchairs provide increased mobility and independence for the user and their carer, allowing users the opportunity to take part in many everyday activities, despite having reduced or no mobility. As well as being able to carry out certain daily tasks with more ease, a wheelchair offers many social and health benefits.
An appropriate and properly fitted wheelchair benefits the physical and health and quality of life of the users which also aids and assists in improving respiration and digestion. It also helps to reduce common problems such as pressure sores and progression of deformities.
It is so important that our wheelchairs are regularly maintained and serviced to prevent breakage, which would result in a child not having the essential use of their chair.

TJ from CE mobility in George presented a workshop for our 2 awesome men at Die Sterreweg – Linda and Nel, as well as our Occupational Therapists – Heidie and Nicole, so that they are able to maintain as well as identify may require more specialized attention.
Thank you very much TJ for coming through and offering your guidance and assistance.
