Learning through play is important and can help young children be ready for school, encourage their imagination and help them with literacy and numeracy skills. Role play games can help children make sense of their worlds as well as aiding in their emotional and physical development.
And most importantly, it is FUN!
Children play to practice skills, try out possibilities and discover new challenges, leading to deeper learning. Play allows children to communicate ideas, to understand others through social interaction, paving the way to build deeper understanding and more powerful relationships.
Our beautiful children in the Bright Stars (ages between 8 and 12 years old) class at Die Sterreweg were encourage to engage in imaginary play in class. Lovely way to develop communication, social skills, functional skills etc.
