As we have moved through the various stages of lockdown and continue to deal with the challenges faced with resetting our lives, no doubt there have been silver linings which we carry with us into this next stage of creating and inspiring our “new normal”.
The positive impact of the regular home visits on the parents of our Sabrina children has wonderfully allowed them to become more empowered and confident, learning new skills in assessing and treating their own child in a home environment.
Equipped with cell phone data we’ve ensured that a communication link with our Occupational therapists is constantly and regularly maintained and has provided a brilliant tool for the future.
Throughout lockdown, thanks to your love and support, we’ve had a sufficient flow of funds to help support the additional costs of feeding the families, mostly unemployed, and transporting our care workers to individual homes.
Our challenge going forward is to now combine the opening of our day care centre and still maintain home visits and the support and education of the parents which will include an additional transport vehicle and continued food costs.
We send huge gratitude and love to you, our extended family and community who make it possible for us to do what we do.
