Hello! My name is Lukas Ochsenbein. I’m currently a grade 7 pupil at Somerset House in Somerset West, and I’ve set myself the physical challenge of swimming the Robben Island/Freedom Swim this April (as a relay together with a couple of my classmates) in aid of The Sabrina Love Foundation who supports and cares for children with special needs in the Garden Route.
The Freedom Swim is an extreme 7.5km open water swim from Robben Island to Big Bay, Bloubergstrand. It is recognized as one of the world’s most extreme sea swims due to the very cold water of the Atlantic Ocean (13-14 °C), unpredictable sea and weather conditions, and the presence of great white sharks.
I will continue to train hard and prepare myself physically and mentally for the swim.
Please donate to my fundraising project on GivenGain and thank you all so much for making a difference and touching the lives of our Sabrina Love Families.
