For the last 2 weeks our children have been working through their work books given by the Department of Education CSPID* Team – and wow it has worked so well! The overall theme of the activity book is “My home”, with a variety of activities that can be done at home.

There are two different books, an easy and a more difficult version. The children and their families were provided with some lovely resources to complete the activities with. Children were also once again encouraged to also work with natural resources or items that were easily found at home or in the garden.
Art is such an important aspect of development in children, it helps to build fine motor and problem solving skills.

Our WhatsApp Group Managers guided the parents through the activities and adapted them to give our parents ideas to make it beneficial for their specific child.
We received so many lovely photos from proud and enthusiastic parents of what their children achieved.

For children that need support, our parents do hand over hand facilitation. The use of this leading system, the person teaching a skill places their hand over the child’s hand and directs the child’s hand with their own. Hand over hand prompting can teach a child how to perform important skills such as properly using a pair of scissors, tying their shoes, or writing their name.
