Towards the end of 2013 the Sabrina Love Foundation found a need to empower the handful of special needs children that have come through the years as Sabrina children. These wonderful and precious individuals are an important part of the Sabrina Family and are known to many people who see them at our various fundraising events. The youth program was started to create meaningful work for these young adults who are finished school and are being integrated into society whilst learning skills to become independent.
In order to empower these individuals, as well as our youth who are older than 15 years and cannot get access to special schools, we developed a project whereby they are able to work and create special and beautiful products within the Foundation on Die Sterreweg premises. Those that are older than 18 years receive monetary compensation for the products they produce and are an integral part of the selection of these specific products.
We have introduced a handful of local artists and philanthropists who have selected specific products and items that can be produced in our youth workshops and for which there is an existing market. They make key holders, necklaces and car stickers as the project grow more product will be made.
It is so heartwarming to see that a number of their products that they are making can be found in our Sabrina Love shop. Look out for our necklaces bracelets and car stickers. In the future keep your eye out for other stunning gifts and items.
Here they are preparing the car stickers for the Ocean Challenge 2013.
I am inspired by your wonderful work in empowering these special needs children. I try in my small way to make a contribution towards your efforts by walking on my favorite beach each year when in Plett.. a small price to pay towards helping those who cannot walk
With my love xx Cher
Thank you Cher we hope you enjoyed the Beach Walk this year as there was such a wonderful turn out! We are grateful to each and every individual that supports us every year. xx
