Before the onset of the recent cold weather, we have had the perfect conditions to enjoy the great outdoors and what is better than returning to a firm favourite – horse riding! After a lengthy break from extramural activities, our children have been overjoyed at returning to one of their very favourite outdoor adventures.
Under the guidance and supervision of Sue and her daugher Amber, the children from Die Sterreweg have once again returned to their farm visits and are loving their renewed interaction with these gentle giants.

Our locum physiotherapist, Sam Scheepers, has been accommpanying the children on their outtings and with her hippotherapy* experience, has given guidance, ensuring that the riding is maximally therapeutic for the children.

Thank you so much to Sue and Amber from Avalon Riding Centre for always ensuring that our children have a wonderful, safe experience.
*Hippotherapy refers to how occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology professionals use evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning in the purposeful manipulation of equine movement as a therapy tool to engage sensory, neuromotor and cognitive systems to promote functional outcomes.
